UDICHI is the brand name of a comprehensive ENT, Head-Neck and Plastic Surgery Centre run by a group of highly qualified, experienced and dedicated ENT specialists and Plastic Surgeons of Kolkata since 2004.

They were inspired by their mentor Prof. S. D. Mukhopadhyay who set a unique example of ethical medical practice with high moral value, an outstanding surgical skill and keen academic aptitude. Being an excellent teacher of high repute across the country, his primary advice to the young doctors was ‘to be a good human being first before being a good surgeon’.

With his philosophy of medical ethics and humanity, UDICHI was born in the year 2004 and it is the first ever complete ENT Institute in Kolkata and West Bengal serving thousands of ailing patients with due care, in homely environment, at affordable cost and with unmatched quality.

Brief history of our Evolution

UDICHI ENT Centre started its journey on the auspicious day of 1^st July, 2004, the Doctors Day, with a group of five very senior, highly experienced & dedicated ENT surgeons in a small premise at Salt Lake. Here we had an incubation period of three years of working together that proved our integrity as a team without any professional clash.

After three years at Salt Lake, in the year 2007, increasing number of patients urged us to find a bigger plot in Lake Town where we expanded our infrastructure including all minor (Outdoor) procedures within clinic. The center became equipped with ENT surgical Microscope, Nasal Endoscope, Flexible Fiber-optic Laryngoscope and a complete Audiology department.

Since ENT is a super-specialty of surgical faculty, the need of an operation theatre became imminent to make UDICHI a complete ENT hospital. Within three years we relocated our entire establishment (phase wise) to the present building where two different floors are separately dedicated for Outdoor and Indoor departments and a modern Operation theatre with all imported surgical equipment.

Since 2010 UDICHI has earned un-parallel reputation among thousands of local & regional patients. We also deliver our service to patients from North Bengal districts, neighboring states and even Bangla Desh.

UDICHI is the first and successfully surviving ENT Institute of its kind which is owned by and run by the DOCTORS and not by any non-medical managers or Corporate Giants. Since inception UDICHI has maintained its high level of patients’ care and treatment quality at very affordable charges. It is committed to serve ailing patients from all sections of the society with most modern medical and surgical equipment with great care and high quality.

UDICHI principally believes in strict adherence with Medical Ethics in its policy of treatment, investigation and also in marketing (very rare practice nowadays) that defined us distinctly different from many other renowned commercial medical hubs.
